Message from the IPRA President: Reaching out to new colleagues January 2018

This first Newsletter of the new year is appropriately devoted to a new development for IPRA. Midway next month, we will initiate a cooperation with a PR institute in Azerbaijan. This coincides with an international PR conference in Baku (17-18 February). Organized by Proloq PR Development Center and the online PR magazine Proloq.az, as well as with the assistance of the Azerbaijan Press Council, the conference aims to bring together know-how and expertise for the emerging communication profession.

Message from the IPRA President: Join the IPRA party in Sofia, September 2017

We are just about 6 weeks away from IPRA’s annual Golden World Awards Gala. This year it takes place in Sofia, Bulgaria. Message from the IPRA President: A question of Influence August 2017

Around €85 million was the budget scrapped by giant Procter & Gamble from its online advertising budget. In an article in the Wall Street Journal, two of P&G’s directors say they lost confidence in the effectiveness of digital advertising. In spite of spending significantly less, sales for P&G in the affected product categories didn’t decline.

Message from the IPRA President: Awards, training and new cooperation July 2017

July is the month that the judges of IPRA’s Golden World Awards for Excellence (GWA) convene in a central location to determine that year’s winners. So, too, this year, when we came together in Belgrade, Serbia and reviewed, discussed and, eventually, judged the finalists in each category. Discretion stops me from enthusing about specific winners. On 13 October, all winners will be announced and celebrated at the annual IPRA GWA Gala. This will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria. A compelling city to visit, I can say from personal experience, and even more so now that you can join us there for a great and inspiring evening. All information about booking your Gala tickets will be posted shortly at www.ipra.org

Message from the IPRA President: Written on the body June 2017

Last month, I sat down for lunch in Amsterdam with Inna Shevchenko, the premier founder of the women’s activist group FEMEN. We hadn’t met before, only communicated by email, and our initial conversation was typically characterized by finding a common shared interest. This quickly and predictably centered on the occasion for which we met, the awarding of the 2016 IPRA President Award to Inna and the activists of FEMEN. Inna had come to Amsterdam to receive the award during a small ceremony we held in the afternoon.

IPRA Participates in UN’s World Press Freedom day: fake news and journalist killings at top of the agenda
