IPRA at the European Parliament

IPRA  has participated in a series of  consultations with the European Commission and European Parliament in Brussels to discuss the EU's voluntary lobbyists register and its code of conduct. Most recently, on 15 October, Philip Sheppard IPRA Board member, gave evidence to a working group of members of the European Parliament (MEPs). The group was chaired by European Parliament Vice-President Rainer Wieland and  the meeting attended by European Commission Vice-President Šefčovič.

Alastair Campbell to give a keynote speech at the IPRA Central & Eastern Europe Conference

The former British Prime Minister Tony Blair’s spokesman, press secretary and director of communications and strategy will give the keynote speech at the regional IPRA conference “Unleashing the power of smart communications”, which will take place in Sofia, Bulgaria on the 6th of November. The conference, organized by Bulgarian communications consultancy United Partners, will cover trending topics for communications and marketing professionals from the transition public relations is undergoing to digital and regional challenges that marketers and communicators are facing in a world of change.

IPRA Golden World Awards has a new final entry deadline for the competition

Due to numerous requests, we have extended the deadline for entries. Now 4 June is the new last day that late entries will be accepted with payment of a late fee.

Peruvian university wins international IPRA President´s Award

Universidad de San Martín de Porres (USMP) based in Lima- Peru was awarded the IPRA President´s Award, the highest honor granted by the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) -a worldwide organization bringing together public relations practitioners from all over the globe- for its permanent labor and contribution to research in Public Relations as well as to position  the profession in the Latin American region developing relevant international events and undergraduate, graduate and specialized academic programs.

Launch of the first Arab International Public Relations Conference

A Press Conference was held at the permanent headquarter of the Arab Organization for Administrative Development (ARADO) in Heliopolis Cairo last Sunday April 21st, 2013 to launch the activities of the first Arab International Public Relations Conference under the slogan of “Is Transparency in communication the future of Global Public Relations”, which will be held in cooperation with the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) in the Egyptian City of Sharm El Sheikh on June 25th and 26th, 2013.

IPRA works on a freedom of expression project in Burma

The International Public Relations Association (IPRA) is working on a freedom of press and expression project in Burma with several NGOs.
Jim McQueeny, who participated in the annual meeting World Press Freedom held in New York City, will be IPRAs team member in-country later this month working on that country's drafting of their new Constitution after years of military rule.

McQueeny is a non-government organizational representative to the UN's Department Public Information, for the London-based International Association of Public Relations where he is a board member.
