Lars Boering, director World Press Photo, receives the IPRA President’s Award
Last night in Amsterdam, the World Press Photo Foundation was the proud recipient of the IPRA President’s Award.
“World Press Photo is an organisation that in its own words seeks to create and support the conditions that make possible the stories that matter, said Bart de Vries IPRA’s President. “This organisation which is exactly as old as IPRA, we were both founded in 1955, has for over 60 years shared high-quality visual stories with its annual competition. It has done with images what we in IPRA do with words”
In attendance were Lars Boering, director World Press Photo and board member Guido van Nispen. “We are proud to receive this award from an organisation that shares so many of the same values”, commented Boering.
The President’s award was founded in 1977 and is presented annually to an organisation or an individual to recognize an “outstanding contribution to better world understanding”.
