Dear members and colleagues,

September is a very special month for us as it centralises one of the most important activities of our association: the IPRA World Congress 2015. This an event that goes beyond attracting the professionals and academics of Public Relations. It is a memorable moment in the history of IPRA, a time to celebrate our 60th anniversary of activity across the globe. It is an opportunity to reaffirm IPRA’s reputation as an institution that is at the forefront of the practice and development of PR.

IPRA World Congress 27 – 29 September, Johannesburg

Johannesburg will become the centre of this multicultural meeting that will present new perspectives on global Public Relations practice. During these days we will share experiences, learn about innovative strategies and discuss how we might adapt them for our own clients and audiences. More specifically, we will learn about “Leadership in Today’s Communication - The Way to Trust”. To date we have registrations from 30 countries. We will be diverse but Public Relations will be the bond that keeps us united during the days of the Congress.

One of the points that contributes particularly to strengthen that feeling of solidarity and brotherhood is professional ethics. And there will be much discussion on the challenges of ethics in today’s world.

As part of the scientific community, I relish the challenges of innovation and new research. This attitude of continuous development and the re-inventing of PR will also be part of the topics discussed.

IPRA Golden World Awards Gala Dinner

Moreover, Johannesburg will be a chance to celebrate cutting edge innovation and excellence in PR. On the Monday evening, we will all be able to enjoy a memorable evening at the Golden World Awards Gala Dinner recognising the winners of the 2015 awards. With a local celebrity to guide us through the evening, and the presence of two ambassadors, it will be glamorous, educative and great fun.

I hope to see many of you at the Congress in Johannesburg. It will be a fruitful experience from what we can all learn, what we can all contribute, and how we can all network. If you have not done so already, book now and register at: www.ipra.org/congress
