In 2017 Cartoon Network Africa tasked Burson-Marsteller Africa with the challenging, cause-driven project to raise awareness around the uncomfortable topic of bullying among kids across Africa, successfully rolled out in 2016 with Wayde van Niekerk as the official anti-bullying ambassador.   Based on market feedback, Burson-Marsteller recommended partnering with a younger role model hence, 15-year-old, double amputee Paralympian, and world record holder Ntando Mahlangu was selected as the 2017 ambassador. Not only was Ntando of the right age, he too had been bullied for his physical disabilities, making the rising star the most authentic, relatable candidate across all territories to date.
