Breath quality awareness is generally low among the Japanese—one survey found that 72% of foreigners in Japan had a negative impression of the breaths of the Japanese.  Our goal was to use this PR campaign to improve oral hygiene among the Japanese by making them more aware about the quality of their breaths.  We developed Mr. Sniff, a state-of-the-art breath-analyzing robot that presents the results of its analysis as one of 10 different gestures, each one exaggeratedly comical so as not to put off the person being analyzed.
