London, UK – October 2, 2008 – John D. Graham, chairman of Fleishman-Hillard International Communications, was selected to receive the President’s Award from the International Public Relations Association (IPRA). The annual award, IPRA’s highest honor, was established in 1977 to honor individuals or institutions “which have utilized the tools of mass communication to promote the principles of peace, social justice, cultural understanding, or the role of public relations.”

“John Graham recognized early on the powerful and positive role public relations could play in a rapidly globalizing marketplace,” said Robert W. Grupp, president of IPRA. “Over the past three decades he has not only built Fleishman-Hillard internationally, he has helped elevate the reputation of our profession, sharing IPRA’s belief that global collaboration among public relations professionals, our companies, and our clients can lead to better understanding among the people of the world.”

“It is a great honor to be chosen to receive the IPRA President’s Award, just as it has been an honor to support the fine work of IPRA over the years,” said Graham. “I accept it on behalf of all my colleagues who make up the global Fleishman-Hillard team. They share in this award because, every day, they live the belief behind it – the belief that what we all do for a living makes a difference in the world.”
